I've seen pictures of it, and I've had friends that have smoked it, but no one seems to be able to find it on my end of town. Anyone know for sure if the parents are Sweet Deep Grapefruit x Lavender?! I was going to order the seeds and breed the strain myself. I've seen it listen on other sites as clone only but I'm willing to put the work into breeding it if that's the for sure parentage. Anyone that can confirm?

Trying to find the exact same strain that you smoked by name can be very difficult. A lot of breeders strains are completely different and yet share the same name, for example nirvana's white widow could be completely different from what attitude is selling for white widow. You might have heard the name cotton candy come from a dealer who made it up simply because the bud smelled similar to cotton candy. When people breed their own plants, their entitled to be able to call it whatever they want. I suggest just researching some different marijuana strains and see what kind of different strains that would tickle your fancy, there's thousands of strains out there with thousands of different smells, I can guarantee you will fall in love with at least a couple different strains. Hope that helps.

i've grown gear from both delicious & sweet seeds w/ zero drama and only killer results.

im sure cotten candy is bomb.

what are the chances you'll pull of the same thing? ...as you dont have their parentage.

you may be able to do massive selections, runs, testing, smoking, etc & get close.

i doubt combining your version of grapefruit & lavander would snatch a similar result.

just buy it from them... way easier.

[h=1]Federation Seed Company - Cotton Candy[/h]
An old Vancouver Island strain that originates from Afghani and Haze seed lines, recognized by the medical community for its pain relief without the drowsiness. Wonderful fragrance with an earthy flavor and long lasting high. The Cotton Candy will produce one ounce of dense bud per gallon of soil/root mass. The Cotton Candy has deep green leaves with a bushy growth structure that makes it almost as wide as it is tall. Known for its astringent qualities, the Cotton Candy has an extreme drying effect and it is recommended a glass of water or juice should be at hand while medicating. Flowering 8 weeks

Like it was said, it depends on which breeder's Cotton Candy you are looking at since genetically very different strains can and do at times carry the exact same name.

Attitude is not a breeder. It resells breeder's strains, including Nirvana strains, so technically they sell every version of White Widow that the breeder's they buy from make. But Attitude doesn't make and sell a version of it's own.

So that means that comparing the version of White Widow that Nirvana makes to what Attitude sells is like comparing Nirvana's version to about 30 or more different versions of White Widow.

The point remains the same. Regardless of if the strain is actually made up of the strains that were claimed to be used or not, that doesn't mean it will be true Cotton Candy. All it will mean is the strain was made by crossing the strains claimed to be used.

An example of how it is difficult to believe what is read, even in alleged breeder information, on two sites I found the same Federation Cotton Candy as above claimed to be Afghani X Blueberry.

All that can be done is try it and if they like it, then it is what they consider to be Cotton Candy and they are happy. If they don't like it, they don't keep a mother or buy and grow more in the future.

bro. no offense.

1) its exactly what he's talking about... read the original post.
2) i've run, veg'd, cloned, sold, smoked delicious seeds gear & find them reputable.
3) im not the complete cynic both you & uncle ben are regarding genetics.

& we could easily say the same thing about your god nevil & savior shanti.

those two think they created everything.

maybe they made cotten candy?

I'm not so sure it's what I'm looking for, but it might be worth giving it a shot. I could probably come out with some amazing smoke anyways. I've got a bit of a nack for picking out good characteristics and putting them together, so I wouldn't view this as a waste of effort if it tasted nothing like cotton candy. I would, however, be slightly disappointed. I'm pretty sure the SDG and the Lavender corss would come pretty close. SDG is Sweet Pink Grapefruit and Blueberry Sativa, and Lavender's Genetics are on Attitude in that post from above. Either way, I doubt it would be bad smoke. And Bricktop, while you may be right about the different breeders listing the same strain's as different parentage, it's possible that their crossings carry some of the same psarentage along the way and they've gotten the same outcome from different hybrids. Not highly likely, but possible indeed.

You can see it listed on The Single Seed Center site, it's a wild cross between "Lavender" and "Power Plan, a friend is just getting ready to start some, http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/products/delicious-cotton-candy
