Again, they are not paid to jeopardize their lives or be injured. They are paid to enforce the law and they are humans. Who want to go home to their families.

Kinda surprised at the responses here.

"I'm a big pussy who's too scared to do the right thing and would never risk my own bodily harm for anyone else, the phrase "To protect and serve" means nothing to me"

To think you would actually take somebody's life to protect yourself from a minor injury speaks volumes about you. You should be glad this is not my forum because you would not be coming back here. What a piss poor attitude to have in life, it's sickening, anti human, anti peace, anti understanding and does not fit in with the mentality of majority of us here I would hope.

I could care less if you were a cop, I would simply trust the Administrators picked somebody decent enough to be a mod, though I wouldn't weigh that in your favor. What is disturbing is your statement above. It says a lot about you. First of all if you were to watch the video the guy did NOT swing at the cop or even attempt to, he simply acted as if he was going to. There's plenty of more time in deciding to take somebody down between there and plenty of OTHER options besides using DEADLY force. I don't know how you don't see this. There are so many reasons why this is wrong... this is clear cut... I can't even begin to debate this with you further... it just shouldn't have to be debated at all.

I am disturbed that you are a moderator here based on your comments, especially that you have friends in law enforcement and have that mentality of bad cops we all find frightening.

Why were they so close to him,stupid fucks had enough men and a dog and more men on the way!
Let the dog go ,taser him while the dog is on him and beat him with night sticks if they feel like it.

Dumbass gung ho cops took another human beings life when it wasn't necessary.

Deadly force should not have been used on this man.
This is how you kill in war.You're not trying to protect and serve anyone,your job is to kill the enemy.

Cops job: defuse situation, subdue suspect with least amount of bodily harm, use deadly force when all other options have been exhausted.

He cocked the bar back and crow hopped towards the officer. The next step, imo, is to unleash the force that is gained by cocking it back. i seriously think that another 1-2 seconds without being stopped would've resulted in a balls-out swing.

not justified at all. like others said, they had multiple cops and an attack dog.. He got shot 10 TIMES.. he was down the second shot and the Officer just kept on going. the attacker did look like he was going toward to swing but looked very reluctant like he just wanted to make the cop flinch. also that dog is probably fast as shit so he would have been able to get him down and stopped the attack IF the suspect was going to even try and hit him.
