You're straining mightily to make this personal when it isn't. As for the crude image of my "being after your balls" ... you placed me in a big sack of vaginas, remember? That was hostile and (imo) unwarranted. It would be better if you didn't overdramatize ... if you didn't characterize my dissent as a crudely sexualized attack on your person. It's the assumption thing once again, which is causing you in this instance to manufacture conflict unilaterally. Dissent is just that, no more. cn

Two reasons, one complimentary ... one not.

You and I sort a know each other for about a year now and have had some good times. i feel that i can come to you as a friend and say "this is not cool".

The other is that your posts have struck me as the most burdened with assumption. The combination of your putting it most plainly and my knowing you best means that I will of course seek to talk to you first.

What i did not expect was sophistry and contortion.

The part I keep trying to point out "is not cool" is placing the rights of the human behind the needs of the dog. That is my opinion, of course, but a strongly-held one. The welfare of the dog is only part of the story here, and the other part that interests me greatly receives short shrift from you.

The business with the balls and vaginas is a matter of decorum ... I'm not seeking to be personally starchy about it, but i do think that it doesn't help the tenor of the debate, but gets in the way. Again, my opinion. cn
