Well, to be fair, electric boat motors in the middle range are somewhere between 48V and 144V, and amps that could go as high as 250A, or 300A, plenty to kill. Those batteries are encased in watertight compartments. Other safeguards are built in too. The biggest concerns are from corrosion and fire hazard. Batteries have been used on boats for many years.

My claim that Trump's starting point is from one of ignorance stands. His decline begins there and by now he's not only ignorant but he's lost cognitive ability to use what little he does know.
His shark/electrocution story starts with fear based upon ignorance. Of course, that story he told is not just the rambling of a dementia riddled mind although it is that too. It hits on two right wing boogeymen. Trump infers that "the woke" approve of sharks eating people because, "nature". Also, it hits at a baseless fear of electrocution from EV batteries. It's a shockingly stupid story but I've heard him tell this story at two different rallies, so it's probably been told many times more twice.

I wasn't sure if this should go here in the junk drawer or it deserved to go in the political satire thread. It made me chuckle. There are some true gems in the British media that are quite humorous. The pictures fit perfectly with the commentary, awkward and uncomfortable. I can't recall any serious and successful politicians that have made as many silly political blunders as this guy (maybe Rob Ford?). Anyway - enjoy some harmless schadenfreude.
The prime minister – the most powerful man in Britain, mind you – sat awkwardly in the background while hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley quizzed the bikini-clad Holt on her choice of body art, which included a very frank discussion about the pitfalls of genital tattooing. I know politicians try to avoid courting controversy this close to an election, but I feel like he could have got away with being a bit more specific here. Was he worried that saying “tuna mayonnaise” would lose him the egg-and-cress vote? Maybe his mind just completely blanked and he forgot that ham exists?
I wonder what his favourite activities are? Probably walking and breathing, I suspect. Maybe when he’s feeling really cheeky, he treats himself to a couple of blinks (don’t tell the wife though).
People accuse Sunak of being out of touch – but remember when he was chancellor and, while trying to pay for the petrol he’d put into the small, affordable car he’d borrowed for a Budget day photo call, he revealed by his clueless actions that he had no idea how contactless payment worked?
Or when, launching his Eat Out to Help Out scheme, he invited the cameras to film him serving food at a Wagamama restaurant, like a normal kind of working-class guy, and got the orders wrong – and forgot to wear a Covid mask? Or that time he tried to look cool in front of schoolchildren, telling them he was a “total Coke addict”?

I've been watching both the RNC and DNC and the difference is so stark between the two.
Only people who have never experienced love in their lives could help but be moved by the obvious display of love in that family and Gus' reaction.
I almost feel sorry for the poor bastards who lashed out at him. Almost.
I like Walz. A lot like my dad who I didn't appreciate until I was older and had kids. Naval vet, hard worker, coach of our hardball team and morally upright without a bible in hand. Miss him every day.

with the DNC, it's completely opposite a lot of energy as it should be.....in fact there supposed to be a special speaker tonight...kinda like last night with Oprah....so we'll see......if it's taylor...omg.....fingers crossed
I like Tim as well, and this was the first time me hearing speak, i mean i've heard clips of him but not like this.....but when he starting with his fam and i saw this:
at that point Mr Gus there stole the show, that right there took courage, it showed love and humility, it showed honor......despite what that young man is going through
