It was a captive bolt pistol also well known as the cattle gun or stunbolt gun and a couple other names i cant recall at the moment.

Well, Zim doesn't have walk, but handgun sales are up again. And two states IL and (?) just passed relaxed CCW rules.

So, to me, it is either one or two things.

1 - no one has a weapon Impossible. And the more we try, the worse it gets. Blackmarket pressure trump un-popular laws.

2- everyone is armed, or at least knows how to conduct themselves. Every place we go, 50% of people are in open carry and possibly another 80% that are CCW. Pulling the weapon on someone will get you killed possibly by an armed bystander.

So, sadly, only 2 is possible, only 2 is the natural state of this world. And even in pastoral England, everyone was armed with something and could use the weapon they had.

I just read an interesting article on the police preparations to deal with the expected unrest that will follow his acquittal. The tone of it certainly leads you to conclude the police and government officials believe he's getting off.
