Go to the GrowFAQ section, everything you need to know is there. The better plan you have the less chance you run of wasting your time and yielding nothing.
For light you should definitely be looking at CFL's.....
Looking good buddy. I hope they turn into some pretty ladies for you. You have to upgrade to a larger pot size some, given the health of the plant now it could be a good time to get ready for when they are big.
you are correct hmmm123, for veg use bulbs with a color temp around 6500k. When you switch to 12/12 for flowering the bulbs need to around 2700k-3000k. Check out the GrowFAQ, its all there
one month n you are still in the veg state. You should be looking for a bulb rated at 6500k, this is the color temperature of the bulb. If you only have one lamp you should either the biggest bulb it can take or buy a Y adapter and have two bulbs going through one lamp. You need to spend some...
You are gonna need more than one 27w cfl for a plant. And 5500k is referencing the color temp of the bulb not the lumens. A 5500k bulb should be used for the veg stage, in the flower stage you use bulbs at 2700k-3000k. I have two plants 3.5 weeks into flowering under cfls. I use two 42w cfls...
I am currently flowering two plants in a small cab, about 3.5 weeks in. I am using two 42w, six 26w, and a 4' tube fluoro with two 40w bulbs. I was surprised at the heat. The plants love the light, you just have to be creative keeping them cool.
That is a tight space you are working with. CFL's are obviously your best (and only) choice. Pay attention to the cooling. I used white peg board for the ends of my box to increase ventilation. CFLs are much cooler but in a space like that heat can still become an issue for you. I am using...
Those reflectors would work but you could probably make something better/more efficient. If you want really want to grow two plants healthy and as fast as your setup will allow plan on adding light in the veg stage and carry it over to flower. I would do one 42w bulb per plant plus 4-6 more 13...
Be careful to factor in heat. I have found CFL's over 26w will kick off more warmth than you think. Just make sure you can keep them cool and you should have a hell of a yield.
Good luck....
I posted these pics in the newbie section earlier because these are my first plants. I decided to use CFLs and I got a ton of info from this forum. These girls are about 3.5 weeks into flowering. I now have
42 watt 2700k bulb X 2
26 watt 2700k bulb X 8 (three clustered around each 42w overhead...
Your box is 4' tall, if you take subtract the height of plant container you are probably left with three feet. Once the plants get about one foot tall you may not even need a reflector if the walls are lined good.
use a cheap silver car windshield reflector as the material for your light reflector, you can pick up a gaint one for like 4 bucks. You can build a frame from anything and line it with the windshield reflector. I used that and flat white paint to line the walls in box. It seems to do ok.
Thanks for sharing that potlike. Heat and venting can be a pain, I am considering tapping into my ac ducting in the attic or ceiling vent and just run a direct vent into the box (i keep my house about 76 degrees).... the wife would kill me but problem would be solved.
Try to get it to fill out more before she gets too much taller. After three months and probably a few weeks in flower I would be trying to get fat dense buds. How far away is the light from that girl?
I just got a 4 pack of 26 wat cfl's at home depot for like $12.00. My two 42watt CFLs cost me $9.95 each. Those are the most expensive lights in my box.
I have no idea what the problem is here. What I do know is that if I had a 600w hps light and five good clones I would be treating them only one way...with TLC so they get big and fat. I would save the experiments for bagseed or something
