I picked it up at the Hydro store. I was going to buy "Pro Mix for Containers" but the nearest dealer was 50 miles away. The hydro store is further than that but it was on my way somewhere so I stopped there. They didn't have the Pro Mix but reccommended the Happy Frog. You can get Ocean Forest but most people don't like the pricetag and it's made by the same people (Fox Farm). Here's a link to the Fox Farm retailer locator: FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company

I worked my ass off over the weekend, building a new grow cabinet. I got everything in it's place and the plants are growing like weeds! :) I have both blueberry (in the soil bags) and the big bud (in RW). The big bud is 8 days older than the blueberry.

TY. The P.O.S. pH meter from stealth hydro was so far off it wasn't even in the ballpark. Since I got the Hanna pH meter I now know how powerful the pH down I'm using really is. All it takes is a few *drops* in 3 liters of water and it's at around 5.5 and most of the time I have to add a few drops of pH up because it gets too low. I was very lucky to save my babies; you gotta trust your gut sometimes - even when a $150 meter says it's all good. BTW, the plants have grown over 1/2" in the last 20 hours.

Looks like your plants are getting the growth they should do now, this method is incredibly easy but it does depend upon good meters or common sense.

Well said... and I couldn't agree more. I've got several more blueberry babies sprouted in the Organo pots. I'm going to give this a shot in my NFT system. The sprouts are about 1.5" high and have little tap roots coming out the bottom already! I think this stuff is going to be the ticket. I'll need to build another grow cabinet for it tho.

BTW, when will these be ready to start taking clones? They are bushy almost all the way to the bottom and probably need to be thinned out a little down there.

Stardate3737.3v2.0: The plants have grown 3" taller since Monday; that's an inch per day. Not too bad huh? I've got some bottom leaves turning and pretty much falling off but the rest of the plant is very healthy and it's probably just due to the pH rising and falling. I'm watering with nutes on Monday and Thursday. The pH was 5.6 and the EC was 1.66 this morning.

Here is a pic of morning 41 since sprouting. They are looking very healthy, roots coming out the bottom of 12" of RW on some of them. They were so bushy that I felt like I should prune them so I did and I started some clones from the clippings. One of them had a chronic loss of leaves on the very bottom; don't know what that was all about, otherwise it was the picture of health. The tallest one is 13"; last week it was barely 9". Yesterday I checked the temp and it was 94 in the cabinet; I freaked out. They were bone dry so I gave them their nutes and water and some TLC and left the cabinet door open. It is amazing how much of an area a few plants can affect as far as smell goes. It was really skunky everywhere this morning. I wasn't sure about the cloning; we'll just see how it goes. I did everything I knew to do but wasn't sure if they needed light or dark, warm or cool - so I put them in the shadow of the mothers in the grow cab with the door open. It was about 74 degrees F in there this morning.

I also have 16 Blueberry sprouts from the seeds I put in the Organo pots; all but one came up and that must have been a non-viable seed. I've only got 12 spots in my NFT system so it looks like 4 of these will go into RW or soil. Send in the clones!

I can't believe what has happened to my plants since cutting the clones. I was expecting to see them suffer a little from the stress of whacking them but noooo. They are actually growing faster than before I trimmed them. As of right now (5pm on Tuesday, the tallest is 15" tall). I just hooked up the timer and am throwing these girls into flower. The Blueberry is staying in there too, although it is just a little over half the height; I'm going to flower both of them together. I also have one little blueberry that is a survivor from my first grow. I had 14 blue berry plants to die and this one alone survived because of going by my gut. It is about 4 or 5 months old and 5" tall but since I've had it under the HID lights and feeding it Advanced Nutes organic (Iguana Juice) it's been going nuts recovering. Just for laughs I'm going to leave it in the cabinet and let it flower too.

I noticed yesterday that the plants lowest leaves were getting yellow and the tips burnt. I read on here that it was Mg deficiency. I am more than a little disappointed that the high dollar nutes from Advanced Nutrients have this deficiency. Fortunately I had some unopened Biowhatever brand Cal-Mag. I mixed up 2 liters of pH'd water and gave it a shot of 10 ml and watered them with that. I'll be taking off for the hollerin' days til monday but I'll take care of my babies before I leave to make sure they don't suffer. I have the timer on 12/12. They seem to do better without me fussing over them all the time anyway. Pix Monday.

Well these aren't the pix I had hoped to post today. Once again, I think I've almost killed my plants by trying to help them. I did succeed in getting rid of the gnats for now but in doing so I have just about killed my perfectly healthy plants. I don't think one of them is going to make it. Not being able to find "Gnatrol", I got what seemed like a reasonable spray, Ortho Home Defense with Orange Peel. DO NOT USE THAT STUFF!!! Rather than blabber on I'll just post the pix. The pix are both the Big Bud and Blueberry grows.
