Grower's Choice ROI-E720 MAJOR FAIL!

Well I still don't know anyone recommending them lol but I hope you get the problems solved.
I pull 25 ounces plus consistently off my 720s the ourageous claims of 4 lbs a light from these or the gavita 1700s is really maybe attainable if kept 12 inches above a 5 by 5 with 4 10 gallon monsters with 8 to 10 week veg i pull between 50 and 60 ounces off my 4 by 8 with 2 720s over it using offbrand strains once i get some good gentics under em im gonna say 3 lbs per 5 by 5 is easily attainable but they for sure are good for a gram per watt above filled 4 by 4 i know that for a fact i have 3 runs experience with these lights with and without co2

In the pic it was at 80% but I finished at 100% not long after the pic was taken. Never really felt like I had to raise the light much. The plants were growing like crazy and they handled it just fine
I did the same thing with my 680. I had to lower to 80% to make it equal to other leds I have. But I had to lower it anyway because it burned but still usable two plants under it when temp rose to 84 cos it got hot like 3 weeks ago for a few hours. But now I have it at 100%. The rest of the plants under it are ok. The ones burned looked like they stopped drinking much water. I'm going to chop in 2 days. I'll post pics and weight in about 10-14 days after trimming.

I'm happy with 1.5 or morelbs. I'm only at 16 17 per light. If I get 1.5 or more, I'm smoking a lot of people out and clelebrate!

You see those two plants with browned leaves? LOL. They are moist to the touch and sticky and smells good and crystallized chopping this 4x4 in 2 days at 10 weeks flower.

I have to question the legitimacy of the original post anyways. I'm hearing and seeing from a lot of people doing rather well with the 720s. A lot of the stores up here have em in stock and selling like crazy. The build quality looks surprisingly good.

Do you normally keep your lights over a foot away?? Just curious not prying always wondered how mine would turn out if i did that i keep my rails within 6 inches of the tallest at all times

What leds do the 680 have? I thought they use osram whites and osram reds but someone on here said they use samsung 301b whites and osram reds. I'm about to buy a 680, somebody let me know! Thanks!

I had the e680 at first like 12" away at 80% it still burned a couple of them. Maybe just weaker clones or maybe underwatered and temps did get up to 84F. I have them now about 18" at 100%

I was about to get 6 of these. I read every post. Did the 720s get boost mode?
They always had it. The master controller from them is required to uses it though. This thread is very deceptive. I work directly with growers choice and my experience with them has always been 100% positive. It doesn’t say the MC is required for boost mode in the manual. A 1 minute call to the company and they sent free ones to my customers that had the misunderstanding. A lot of this seems to come from that retail store being shady.

Lots of people killing it with these fixtures so if there was an issue I would say it was an early shipment.

I ended up getting 4 eagle grow 650si at the very last minute, they were on sale. Found them on freaking craigslist. They use lm301b, inventronics drivers and have 500 more chips than grower's choice, warranty, everything, so I was sold and pulled the trigger. Delivery was only $10 a light and took 3 days. They only have 6 bars though. I was nervous tbh with first led grow but 3 months later, I'm super super happy with them. Just sayin'

I just installed a second roi-e720 and it doesn't work in boost mode. The original one purchased in June 2020 does work in boost mode. The product 'can' obviously work in this mode as I've been rocking one for almost a year now. I also own a gavita 1700 and have had better results under the roi-e720. Really bummed this one doesn't do boost (without controller, thanks GoodHabitsGardening for that nugget) as that's what I believe made it better then the gavita.

What's the specs on that light? LED brand and chip count and driver?

Major issues right out of the box....low Umol output, and non working "boost" mode on both brand new lights! I bought these through ledgrowlightdepot.com and they have NOT been helpful in helping me resolve this issue more. It's been a week and i have yet to hear from GROWER's CHOICE!

I buy my seeds from there. They have a phone # you can call but be prepared to wait 1.5 hours minimum. But someone will pick up eventually.

Wish there was a copy of the old site, would be good entertainment.
I think you meant that you wished there was a functional and active copy of the old site. I have something a little different. Right around the time OG got shut down people were scrambling to archive the data that was lost. I don't know who this was, but on marijuana.com's forum, which eventually turned in what was called The Garden's Cure, some mysterious person DM'd me and asked if I wanted an archive of the site. I said sure and the person sent me a link to what was an archive of the Overgrow GrowFAQ. But it was stored in a way that it would have been stored on a web server. I always found it odd that person chose me, but I contacted Rick, marijuana.com site admin, and gave him the link so he could put it up on the site.

Anyway, all that's gone now but I still do have the archive. It's a ZIP file and I'm not sure of the rules here but I'm gonna stay safe and not post a link to it. I'm not even sure if I'd be allowed to give it to anyone in a DM. If there's a preferred way to share it, let me know. I'm happy to. And while the data there isn't exactly presented perfectly as it was on Overgrow and also much of it is either outdated or irrelevant these days...it is a nice stroll down memory lane. Get back at me if that is of interest.

Sorry to steer this thread off-topic. I tried following the OP to his other thread where he was gonna post some results but unless I missed them he never did. Thought I'd come back here and address this.

How are these lights holding up for you? Samething here, saw them advertised on CL $499 for 650 watts seems like a crazy good deal. How's the manufacturing look? Still holding up and running correctly?
