Guns

What started out as burglary has become premeditated murder. Very little could be done to prevent being stalked and killed with a rifle.
Him being armed makes getting the cheese sandwitch a much gorier ordeal. Guns might, but not always prevent violence. Earlier in my life I worked in 'debt collections' for a group of cocaine distributors. I was young, dumb, and craved the excitement and extra income the postion offered. Dealers that were in debt and had broken contact with my associates would have to be brought in, and most of them were armed. The fear of them being armed never stopped me from bringing them in. In broad daylight, in your driveway(or moms driveway, or apartment parking lot), I(sometimes with a 'friend') would put you into the trunk of your own car(if you had one) and make sure that you understood that my associates were serious about getting their money. I never worried about my taget having a weapon. I just made sure they didnt have time use it. Older and wiser now, I am not violent and not afraid.

Shit I got robbed a year ago by 2 guys with guns....I was sitting in living room and when the door came open I ran to my room to get my 9mm and was stopped dead in my tracks by one of the gunmen...and got on the ground. Those guys would be dead sir dead if i was in my room at the time. I remember at the time i was going to go in my room and watch some tv but i decided to hit the bong in the living room. And let me tell you that would not be my first gunfight, I was in more I can count in Falluja Iraq and I was a marksmanship instructor in the Marines.........Those guys don't know how lucky they were.......thats the only statistic I need
Errr, did they get your gun? I have a gun safe but if a gun was held to my head, I'd open it. A safe only protects you from sneak thieves and your own relatives.~LOL~.

You are talking about cocaine dealers in the underworld. I am talking about Joe Six-pack taking sensible precautions before the perp reaches a window.

Thats why knowing Homeowner B is an NRA die hard I shoot kill him on his way into the driveway. A 7mm rife with a scope might take him out as he puts thekeys into his front door. I am the cheese sandwitch bandit and I will know my mark. If somebody wants that sandwitch bad enough they will take it. :peace:
Sociology professors agree, a 7mm round cures serial burglars, with 100 percent efficacy. Never a repeat offender problem, i.e. no administration side effects. A perfect solution.

The statement is simple enough to understand.

is this true?

I cannot prove the unprovable.

what? i don't even know what that means? please help What is "unprovable"?

An object either exists in form or it doesn't.

ok

A concept does not require paper, or a time limit, to be genuine.

A concept can never be "real". it can only exist in the mind. There are no concepts on the world... and if you think there are.. then that is ok.. a lot of people have problems deciphering between the reality i their mind and REALITY. STOP THINKING, what ONE PERCEIVES, THAT IS REALITY... CONCEPTS, THEORIES and more are ONLY products of thinking...
i hope this helps.. awakening can be painful.. but when the dust settles yo will feel so yummy

underworld.. a MADE up term... propaganda... KINDA like GOOD and EVIL.. just terms used to POINT the blame in others...

It can make your life so much easier and REAL if ONE just stops BLAMING.. there is NO end to the blame..

AND if you really do have to blame and categorize to the 10th degree to deceive one self from realty.. JUST BLAME GOD... cause in the end.. GOD made everything.. right? LOL

GK, sometimes I agree with you and sometimes I don't. Your everything is everything and your nothing is nothing view leaves a lot to be desired in this old mans view. Man is made up of his ideas and to say the spaces between the ideas is larger than the ideas is to say pretty much nothing as I see it. If God granted us free will, he granted us the ability to think and "if" he exists between the thoughts as you put it, It seems that every thought would have a aprinkling of God in it. So when bad shit happens, is that part of Gods Plan, a little injection of God between the bad thoughts. Does God inject his presence into Dick Cheneys War plans, Sadams genocide, the genocide plans in Darfur? Somewhere in this vacuous space in the brain, me thinks resides an evil entity. Call it the Devil, or Evil or whatever, but when a thought begins to form and move from one receptor to another, some bad shit joins into the frey. That is where the majority of mankind resides now. Hate your neighbor, covet his possessions, fuck his wife. Me thinks evil trumps good in the majority of mankind. I'm convinced there are good people, but not enough to stave off world calamity, convince me I am wrong, and please speak with the common language as the etheral crap you use only confuses most on this site. PS, I love you.

Under your scenario the cops and the bad guys have guns. What's to get?

Ghandi and M.L.K. were assasinated. The bad guys will always have firepower.
Plenty ... and it's obvious you don't get it ... Ghandi and MLK still made great accomplishments without violence ... ... if that's what you believe ... that is what you will get ...

They were nonviolent. They were targets for the deranged and mean people. What do you suggest we do with deranged and mean people, to prevent them from killing the nonviolent?

What makes you think a bad guy would pass you by because you are unarmed? Logic tells me the bad guy would pass an armed person by and focus on the most defenseless. Pacifism is fine until violence is threatened. How do we respond to an assault? Do we turn the other cheek as Christ taught? He was executed.

Now, in your scenario, the bad guys have weapons. The cops have weapons. Where does that leave the ordinary citizen? If he's unarmed he's fucked. The cops can't protect you. In fact, the cops won't protect you. The cops show up after shit goes down and interview the witnesses.

With your "logic" you will never get it. Thoughts, emotions, and beliefs create your reality ... since you believe in the violence ... that is what you will experience ...

Your sanctimony is cute.

I don't believe in the violence. I acknowledge the existence of violence. Understanding we will never be able to rid the world of evil-doers. They will ALWAYS be a product of society.

I do have a question for you gun-control folk. With 276 million civilian owned firearms in the U.S., how do you propose to disarm law abiding citizens? AMERICANS OWN LARGEST NUMBER OF FIREARMS IN WORLD

Who will protect us when we become subjects instead of armed citizens?

I appreciate your words.... and I will try to explain the disconnect that we are having....

THERE is NO free will in THINKING.. this is the illusion...

and until ONE makes an attempt to become aware of this truth or actually does become aware of this truth the illusion that ONE can actually think will continue.... until the moment of death

THINKING is an AUTOMATED PROCESS..

THE ONLY ILLUSION HERE ON EARTH are THOUGHTS themselves and the belief that WE ACTUALLY THINK...

The FREE WILL that you speak of is actually THE ABILITY TO NOT REACT TO THOUGHTS..

When ONE does not react to thoughts.. ONE consciously EVOLVES. All evolution is conscious...

This is called mindfulness or mediation or watching the mind, or non reactiveness... This requires becoming aware of something inside of you that can actually watch thoughts.... this is the first step..

FREE WILL = THE ABILITY TO NOT REACT TO THOUGHTS

This thing that people call the devil IS THOUGHTS

ALL THOUGHTS are the devil..

THE THOUGHTS about GOD are the devil

the thoughts about GOOD and EVIL are the devil..

BUT iN ACTUALITY.. the devil is also a product of thought...

IF YOU WISH TO KNOW WHAT FREE WILL IS AND WHAT THIS REALITY is THAT WE all live in... I can only suggest that you stop thinking..

WHEN the MIND actually comes to a halt... you will feel the grip of death... and fear... it is terrifying... there is only one way to pass this final moment.. and that is surrender... and the mind STOPS..

all the chatter comes to an end.. you actually die.. is seems like death... it is the end to the person YOU always thought was YOU..

but the body PERFECTLY intact... it is electrified.. as the awareness that ONE has kept so passionately on the mind spreads throughout the entire body.... YOU BECOME ALIVE... You can then actually see the brain for what it is.. it is simply a great computer you have in your skull.. BUT it is NOT YOU.. not even close!!!

does make sense?

YES, it can be difficult to stop thinking... and IT is actually unfathomable BY The thinking mind to stop thinking... BECAUSE THOUGHTS are automated.. with the ILLUSION that we are the THINKER... BUT we are not the thinker... and I have no fooking idea who the thinker is... lol

can you define deranged and mean?

iloveyou
Not easily. Most of these freaks are odd, but have never acted out before they start shooting people.
Think about John Hinckley shooting Pres. Reagan. Sec Serv Agent Dennis Mc Carthy apprehended the guy. Said he was odd, but showed no signs of dangerous behavior.

So your next post will probably say 'why have guns if we can't really protect ourselves?' Well, guns protect us sometimes, and that is better than nothing.
