Indoor and outdoor perpetual harvests with seeds and clones

ok, so the most recent cuttings that I took from the GDP, and the 1 from Cinderella, using the rooting hormone, have started to root. I am going to get more soil for them today or tomorrow if I really have to wait. The first set of cuttings that I took are starting to root now too (the ones that I didn't use the rooting hormone on), so its looking like the difference in time to root was about 7 days (meaning it was seven days faster with the hormone). I really need to figure out my indoor veg set up so I can make sure they all are getting enough light. There are only six seedlings left, as when I went to water I found that more than half of them had been kind of cut in half, the leaves dead and dried or missing all together... anyone know why this happened? Everything is going pretty well though, :)... other than that.... Damn I really need a 600w MH...

hey man, i know it would be a big step, but have you thought about just building a small greenhouse?

you can start with a cold frame, and work from there. if you wanna grow year round, you just throw a pellet stove in there.

i think this is the best solution for your wind problem. 30-50 mph z0mg!

I would, but I don't have the materials on hand, and it would cost too much money to go buy them. Thats why I have my indoor set up. My indoor set up cost $150 total for everything including the lights etc.

okay brotha...I swear I am gonna sit down and get to ya within a day or two...I spent the weekend in mexico and have just had a crazy last week and a half with work....but I will get to ya homie....did you get the breaker taken care of yet?

ok, I know I said I wouldn't post any pics for two weeks, but I really meant of the outdoor. Lol, GreenThumb, this is part of the indoor set up.... the bathroom! :P , These pics are from a couple days ago, but as you can see the clones in the rockwool are rooting, and rooting well, they spent about 3 or 4 days in that bathroom, without the cover over them, since this pic they have been put in soil and moved. Just pure FF Ocean Forest this time. Morning Coffee, morning bongload, then breakfast with a gorgeous young lady looking out over the beautiful Sierra Nevada. Wow, I should write about that stuff more often, I bet if I did I wouldn't stress nearly as much, and would be much happier overall with my situation even though it would be exactly the same.... always remember the good things in life...

oh yeah, the one in the very upper right hand corner is the one and only Cinderella clone, can you tell the difference from her and all the others?
The Cinderella has shone me absolutely no signs of stress throughout the entire cloning process... I should definitely take more....

so, of the four seeds planted a back in July, 2 are now gaurunteed males. I know one of them is Cinderella, the other is Don Juan. The other Cinderella seed that was planted is female (her pistils just popped out). I am thinking about putting all three into one room inside, and just letting them go together, so that way I can get the Cinderella x Cinderella x Don Juan. I really hope the other Don Juan is a female, its the smallest of the seedlings, and the only other for sure Don Juan sprout that I have (the types of seeds got mixed up when i planted them in the second go around a little over a week ago) . If that other Don Juan is a female, then I am just going to leave her outside and let her flower, get some good sensimillia off her, the smoke should be even better then the batch that I got the seeds from because it should be seedless (I worry about other males that may outdoors in the area releasing pollen and it getting to my ladies out there, I wouldn't be happy).
I am gunna use up the rest of the rockwool cubes, and take some clones of the purple kush, sensi star, super skunk, and grape ape.
Speaking of grape ape, does anyone know anything about the strains growing requirements? She doesn't seem too happy outside at all.

TLD
The clones are lookin good! You said you were going to put one you just sprouted outside. Do you think it will make it to flower before it gets too cold or the light goes away? I think it would be better off inside but up to you. On the seeding, have you tried collecting the pollen in containers and painting specific branches so yuou will know what seeds are crosses of what? If you just let the pollen fly onto the cindy then you wont know which is which. Just a suggestion as Im not sure what your end use will be. Anywho hows the outdoor grow goin?

ok, like 7 more days until I will post pics of the outdoor I am hoping you guys will like the change you see. Yeah, I moved that clone inside, I am going to take more clones to keep increase the variety going (because I like all these strains), all but one clone seem to be rooted, I expect to see a decent amount of new growth in the next seven days from them, got two more fluorescent agrobrite bulbs and another double fluorescent fixture. Prospects are looking better for the indoor (thanks to some cool people).... I think I might try that with the seeding.... sounds interesting... I will let you know... its just tons of work already, and I would have to set up another little area inside to do it at... though I think I may already have the perfect little space for it. I killed the Don Juan male, so its just Cindy x Cindy unless the other Don Juan turns out to be male as well (thats when i would try your method)... thanks for the advice...

The clone would have been fine outside (it was already well rooted) I just would not have seen the yield that I want to get. That is one reason that I really really want to cross a male and female together, there is a cinderella that is like 14 inches tall that is female that is outside, probably only get like a 1/4-1/2 oz out of her so I might as well get her seeded and grow lots more :), so far the Cinderella seeds I have used are at 2 females of 3 seeds planted which is cool with me.

Maybe people would appreciate it a little more if I waited that 7 more days to post the outdoor pics???? Or isn't there already enough growing porn readily available?

ok, both of those males are now bye bye, but I kept the tops and stuck them in the fridge for later. Took 15 more clones. 4 Purple Kush clones, 2 Sensi Star clones, and 9 Super Skunk clones. They are all now in that bathroom that I posted the pic of... Used rooting Hormone on them all, and scraped the very bottom of the stems as well, and made sure to cut at a 45 degree angle. I am pretty confident about the rooting of the Sensi Star, and Purple Kush, because they were the ones going inside and outside to keep them in the veg cycle longer (they have only been in 12/12 for about 5 days). The Super Skunk clones though, They have been in the 12/12 cycle for about 12 days, so I put a little more hormone on them and took more of them. The shower will be on pretty much constantly for tonight and most of tomorrow as I only have one cloning box, and I want to make sure to keep the different kinds separate. Also, I made sure that the water the Rockwool cubes are sitting in is a little warm, and filled the bathroom sink with hot water. I don't plan on taking any more clones at all, as I have identified two of my seedlings as Cinderella. So after these are rooted and moved to the main veg room I plan on putting the now 16 inch Cinderella female in there with the pollen from the two males that I collected to hopefully get some seeds from her. I had a question about that though:

Can I stick her back outside once I am confident she has been pollinated without also pollinating the rest of my ladies?

Yea once you are sure it is pollinated, just spray it with plain tap water outside to get all the mobile pollin off. You have quite the clone collection now :blsmoke:. The outdoor ladies should be putting on some weight now arent they? Did you get your electrical wiring done?

Well its been close enough to two weeks right? Since the plants are nicely flowering, I thought I might post the progress. The leaves there in the middle of the GDP are yellowing, I think due to Nitrogen def., should I give them some FF Grow big? I just gave them all bloom nutes and catalyst today. The Cinderella is full of popcorn nuggets, the GDP just behind her just starting to bud up, and the Super Skunk is almost there too. All the other ladies outside are just barely starting to flower, accept for the grape ape, and as you can see (its the one in the far right corner) she isn't happy.

Do you have any pics from that grow Dill? I should get 1 pound out of what?...

Hey Green good to hear from yah... yeah, check out the clone collection man.. its going good, all the clones in these pics are rooted... I have some more in the bathroom that are in the process of rooting right now! :). Unfortunately, the electrical wiring hasn't been done yet. Some people promised to do it, and some other people promised to do it... no ones done it yet, I don't really want to do it (don't really know how), so its a bad situation there.... :(, need to get electrical fixed, and additional lighting installed ASAP!

Those look like they are ready to fatten up. Some look like they will have a couple of central tower colas too. I dont know if the smaller ones will completely fill out though as its getting kinda late.

Hows the wind? Is your shade cloth covering the plants? Doesnt that reduce the amount of light? Although where you live that may be necessary.

THat sucks on the electrical problem. I havent seen Honky even post on his grow journal so I cant help ya there.

Clones are looking like they are happy:blsmoke:

spidermites got at 1 of mine and it drooped before the leaves turned colour and some weird bug burrows intoyourstem to look for ant tiny drillholes in your stem and does anybody know what kind of bug digs into your stem
