Why outlawing cannabis was a HUGE mistake

868,126 views Sep 2, 2022
We've used cannabis for tens of thousands of years. Not just to get high but also to make textiles, paper, medicine and much more. We then outlawed it for decades – only to realize the stuff is pretty good at helping fight climate change. So get ready for the cannabis comeback.

So get ready for the cannabis comeback.
Hemp comeback more likely then it can screw up more peoples outdoor grows like it did mine this summer with a 160 acre field of hemp only 8km or so from my place. Hundreds of seeds in each plant. :( More to come with a hemp processing plant being built right across the road from that field of hemp.

:peace:

Dear Tide:
I'm writing to say what an excellent product you have!
I've used it all through my married life, as my Mom always told me it was the best.
Since I am now in my fifties, I find it even better! In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white blouse.
My inconsiderate and uncaring husband started to criticize me about how clumsy I was.
One thing led to another and somehow I ended up with a lot of blood on my white blouse.
I tried to get the stain out using a bargain detergent, but it just wouldn't come out.
After a quick trip to the supermarket, I purchased a bottle of liquid Tide with bleach alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out!
In fact, the stains came out so well the detectives who came by yesterday told me that the DNA tests on my blouse were negative, and then my attorney called and said that I would no longer be considered a suspect in the disappearance of my husband.
What a relief! Going through menopause is bad enough without being a murder suspect!
I thank you, once again, for having such a great product.
Well, gotta go. I have to write a letter to the Hefty bag people.

Bit older news but no longer just a plan since today:

“At its height in the 1770s, slavery generated over 10% of the gross domestic product of Holland, the richest of the seven Dutch provinces which made up the republic“

There’s eleven provinces now and we’re no longer a republic (sad face) and while every piece except what wasn’t reclaimed land yet had indirect benefits, the above fact and the cunt farmer spectrum here, the urban-rural divide, the fact almost all slaves were overseas (i.e. people in most areas in what is now NL did not own or trade slaves) is why in certain areas (relatively poor throughout history or exploited by Holland too) do not agree. Specifically about half doesn’t, and about a third say we must. Personally I’m for any progress in this matter, I can’t judge if this really makes difference or helps so I’m like a macho man in a metoo discussion and let others do that. I‘m all for throwing money at it and eliminate any artifacts that still negatively effect poc today.

And yes, that’s why many still refer to the Netherlands as Holland. I’m from both parts (my parents are), not trying to shift blame to just Holland, just sharing the reasoning of many. The province that made NL rich again over the past decades for sitting on top of a huge gas field is also among the poorest areas. Not uncommon anywhere for richer urban areas to drain resources from poorer rural areas but in this case it’s barely a hundred miles from Holland. Not much has changed in that regard, so the people there do not feel responsible for what different people with a different language did in previous centuries.
