    T5HO light too close?

I run my T5 right on top of day old seedlings. Around 2-3" away. Never had an issue. I do the same with veg plants. Is it possible you touched the plant with the lights on while putting it up?

    Cold growing.

For flower, it's the same thing. The constant circulation keeps away pests, molds, and rots. As long as you vent the excess humidity and keep constant circulation, the plants will thrive and you'll get the natural colors. No problem at all. On a side note, you can give your plants organic...

    Cold growing.

This is the 2nd year of cold growing for me. The first year I ran 70s because I could. I've since had to move my grow to a less desirable area where heat is not really an option. I was on a 2 year hiatus from the forum. I just came back in December. I don't have any grows to show for it except...

    Cold growing.

Optimal in my mind is unaffected and steady growth. Staying inside certain temp parameters doesn't hurt growth or yield at all. The colder temps only increase humidity. That's the only real impact they have. Warmer temps do the opposite. As long as you control your humidity and circulation...

    Cold growing.

I grow organic, but I have used bottled nutes with the same temps. I have no issues with my roots using less water because they don't when it's set up right. Colder temps mean higher humidities... Which is why your plants will use less water if it's not kept in check. Humidity needs to be...

    when is cold too cold?

Here's 2 mothers from a breeding experiment at a little over 4 weeks. Planted in pots outside on November 22nd and brought in on December 23rd for cloning. Temps were around mid to high 50s sometimes 60s during the day and sometimes as low as the low 40s at night. Somehow... They survived. I...

    Anybody tried alternative lighting schedule?

Thanks. It's in a 5 gal pot. I raised the light to about 2ft away to encourage some stretch. I just want to sex some clones to see if it's worth it before running it out.

Guess a lot happened since I was gone. You guys can think what you want. If you want to watch: https://www.rollitup.org/t/anybody-tried-alternative-lighting-schedule.893973/page-10#post-12245292 This noob is done here.

    when is cold too cold?

Directly relates to how much light you can give.

    when is cold too cold?

I never said it didn't. I actually said canopy temp is ideal, you can get your lights closer in 50 than in 70, which will also provide more lumens. You didn't read the whole thread before popping off.

    when is cold too cold?

I'm doing what I'm doing. The plants grow. I dunno what else to tell you.

    when is cold too cold?

    I thought that was implied.
  16. C

    when is cold too cold?

Your assuming the canopy is unaffected by the temp of the light. Photosynthesis takes place in the canopy, not the roots or the air around the canopy, but in the foliage itself.

    when is cold too cold?

I will test it further. Right now I'm in the lighting experiment. I have grown in the 70s and 80s temp ranges. To me, I see no difference at all. When the lighting experiment matures , I'll fire up the other tent and take clones to do a side by side. However, you can't increase temp values...

    when is cold too cold?

Ugh... I'm not going to argue with you. Go back and reread the thread. Or look up what the photo in photosynthesis means... And then remember what accompanies light.

    when is cold too cold?

Perhaps you should have read the entire thread. I explained why temp APPEARS to affect photosynthesis. It's not even part of the photosynthesis process...
