CFL Stealth Cabinet 1st Grow

I found that supercropping is exceptionally effective and stress free for the plant for the most part.

The stems heal extremely nicely after a while and it actually can increase production in the branches where heal joints form.

And you earn the plant all sorts of vertical space if you keep it bent when it starts trying to raise itself back up after it heals the joint you snapped.

Your whole grow is turning right around and looking great :)

Super Cropped it to solve height issue. If you don't know what that its the plant will look dead, lol. It should respond fine though. If it looks like that little stem in the third picture is snapped its cuz it is, lol. Im going to try to tape it.

All appears to be going well for you. It sucks about that one plant being male, but congrats on the other being a female. If your still considering installing another light in the lower area, I think it would be worth it. With cfls, side lighting makes a world of difference in yield. I'd suggest disrupting the plant during it's light cycle. Good job supercropping, as well. Lookin' great so far, keep it up!:peace:

What you mean by disrupting the plant during it's light cycle......like when I put side lights in there?

Yes, that is exactly what I was trying to say.

ah ok....maybe I was going to get a green light and do it in its dark period because all the lights are wired together and I already have drop down sockets in there. They just dont have enough slack wire to drop down low enough. So If I added more wire they would drop down to the bottom. Another idea is to screw socket to plug converters in those 2 unused sockets, connect a short extension cord into each one with the plug to socket converter with a cfl in each one....terrible explanation..maybe you will get what im trying to say.

Ahh! haha, don't do that in flower!

Just popping by. Coolbeans that you decided to supercrop, I think you will be very happy with the results. Don't sweat too much over the stems, they'll definitely heal. ;)

:peace:

Now that I am slightly less high let me explain a little better. In addition to how I have the setup now there are 2 unused socket in there. They are on each side of the plant. These sockets are those "heavy duty temporary sockets" they are ment to hook on something. They are already wired up. I ran out of wire and they were the last sockets I put in so they are not really very adjustable/movable right now. They only have a few inches of slack. I think I will screw converters into those socket that turn them in to outlets for plugs. I can then plug some sort of extension cord in there. Then I have the converters already that are plugs to sockets. So you can plug the socket into a plug and then screw a bulb in. This will give me 1 or more bulbs on each side. I do have 2 y connectors left over. I got to talk to my 'electrical consultant' and see if that is safe. If I can use the y splitters I will have 2 blubs on each side by the bottom of the plant. I might try to go rig something up now and take a picture for yas.

p.s. I was j/k about the green light thing. However those green plant lights im talking about are made so you can go into your grow room or area during dark period and it does not disrupt the plants.

Nice job so far man. Good call on going with supercropping for your height issue, there are many benefits to it other than just keeping the plant on the shorter side. As far as your last post about the lighting goes, to be honest, after reading all 7 pages I've lost track of how many actual watts your running on the one circuit. Using the cord in the way you want isn't that bad to do as long as your not maxing out the amperage rating of your circuit. If you can't get hold of your 'consultant', PM me with a breakdown of what you're running and I can help you. I'm actually a Carpenter by trade and a General Contractor but I hold a Journeyman Electrician title as well that I pursued when I learned of a coming change in the law with regards to performing my own electrical work when contracting. Glad I did it when I did because I ended up doing elec work for buddies that weren't aware or didn't have the time or desire to get it after the law was put into effect.

Anyway, nice job!....Thanks for the +rep, appreciate it.

nice supercropping I've still haven't tried that.
let us know when you add more lighting & keep it green man!! :)

Thanks for stopping by, great to have you. Also thanks for the offer of advice. I will go ahead and post my current setup here so everyone else know and I will also PM ya.

Current Setup
8x26watt 2700 k bulbs on the board
2x13wtt 2700k bulbs on the board
Total 234 watts on board

Added 2x 26 watt 1 2700 1 daylight, so 6500 or whatever plugged into the extension cord mounted on side of box
Total watts board and side 286 watts

Also 2 pc fans

All of the lights are wired together ending up in one grounded plug plugged into the grounded timer in one of the GFC outlets
The fans run off the power from the temp controller and the temp controller is plugged into the other outlet on the GFC

Ok I got some decent pics for ya's i think. You can see all the bud sights forming. Also you can see the added lighting. Not much else to say right now except super cropping is cool.

Yes, I agree. That plant is looking sexy. Nice job adding some side lighting, as well. You will be happy about doing that come harvest time. I have found that, while you will still have issues during flowering, the worst of the problems usually occur during the seedling or veg stage, when the plant is smaller and so vulnerable. I always feel better about my plants once I begin to flower them. You've made it to that point, so congrats.:weed:

Nice man. That's one fat pig of a bush you got goin there
Don't call her fat! She is sensitive, lol. She prefers to be called full figured.

Thanks man. I only added lights on one side for now. When i did super crop I left 1 blank side so I put that side to the wall and all the bud sites toward the light.....I do feel much better now that I am in flowering and I hope the rest goes well.
I'm currently trying to work on getting a new bigger space ready but I don't know where or how yet. I have this back room in my basement that is like an old school canning room. Its probably 4ftx8ft I dont know I didnt mesure it. The problem is the window in that room is glass block and I dont know how to get a good air exchange in there....any suggestions?

my bad, full figured then... :)
Lol...thats better!
All is well...recovering from being super cropped very nicely.
NL is still on the backburner. Its is already lst'd by way of tying its top down...I super cropped it a little tonight to guide it in the way I want it to grow. I did the tallest branches only so the lower ones can catch up. Going to try to make a canopy if I can so it is easier to flower.
Thinking about trying to clone the NL, waitin for it to take root and sticking it in the flower box so i can identify it...see if I am waisting my time on a male. I could do the black bag technique and shade a branch 12 hours a day so it will flower....idk
I will get some pics up tomorrow prob...

Cool deal smokey. Where did u get the northern lights. I'm about to take advantage of attitudes promo but the NL is high $$$.

I got 10 regular ones (non feminized) from Nirvana on thier daily special so it was like $20 for 10 plus shipping.....cant complain about the price the company or the shipping

Nice I just ordered some from attitude.
They are having a promo going I got like 9 fem'd freebies good strains too.
If your thinking about ordering some more you should check it out.
Hell even if your not LOL!
