Here is a recipe for gummies that is probably already floating around here that I found on another forum. SSHZ gets credit.
You need:
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup infused oil
1 large box jello ( don’t use sugar free per instructions)
1 oz gelatin (1 box of 4 envelopes) note-the gummies I made were too stiff, next time I will reduce this by half.
Lecithin-about 1/2 ts- recipe called for sunflower, I used soy by accident. Worked but sunflower is probably healthier?
Directions: boil water and jello approx 3 minutes, add gelatin, reduce heat to just above medium and cook another minute or two, stirring constantly. Add infused oil and lecithin stir another minute or two, then remove from heat and transfer to molds. I also just poured half into a pan to cut “ad lib” pieces by weight.
They are reported to be potentially very strong, depending upon source material and extraction efficiency.
If you use Roy’s method to calculate potential available THC and divide that by the total weight of your brownies you can determine approximate maximum dose. Assume 1 lb of brownies, 8773mg THC into 453.6 g brownies equals approx 19mg per g of brownies. So about forty five 10g piece of max 190mg with 100% extraction efficiency. Same to figure strengt( of gummies.
If my math and thought process is accurate.

Are you guys just cooking oil and cannabis in the pot, or are you adding water? If you aren't adding water, I think that's a major error.

No it's not a major error with oil.. Been doing it this way for 15 years.. Butter needs water to keep it from burning and wash it.. Oil doesn't!

IMO you want to use water either way. I don't like to use butter myself, I use coconut oil. You really can't regulate the temps well without water, but with it there is a nice buffer and it puts your temps in the ideal range without even having to think about it. I like to use leaf for oil, because what else am I going to do with it? I'll use around a pound of leaf to 16 oz of oil, and use a gallon or so of water as a buffer. It's like turning garbage into gold.

I see the difference.. I do much larger batches, 64oz Oil, 4oz bud.. I think the volume of oil may buffer itself?
Temp 208.. The crockpot is full, not much room for water!

for decarb or infuse….i use my ‘instapot’ knock-off pressure cooker.
from 1g to several several ozs….placed in mason jar(s).
a small canning rack keeps the glass off the bottom.
use the canning mode….in 20 min all decarbed or (if you have added oil to your mason jar when you put in the flower, the oil is all decarbed and infussed).
i am really no whiz in the kitchen or at makin’ treats….but this is ‘bob easy’

Hi. I just did the insta pot In a mason jar you mix the oil and dope. There are many good webpages that show how. There is also lots of debate on how long and temps. I think it only was on for 40 min is all you need.
One smart thing I did was: at the end you are left with the big blob of scalding hot oil and dope, you can’t sqweeze it with your hands to get the excess dooper out, so I pour some boiling water over it and it leaches out a bit more oil. Then put it in the fridge and the oil will harden and float on top. To separate it.
On what setting…. Low or high for 40min I think I will do now. I guess 40minis enough. Doing it again with pressed pucks.
